so news update...im gettin FAT

HS days back in gr 12 i was skinniest at around 180lbs

Fattest was b4 i went to japan at around 215lbs

then deflatted to around 185lbs after japan (took me 11 months to achieve) cuz of the X kms i have to bike to work and all the workouts after gym since had nothing to do after work on weekdays

now almost one year later i've gained most of it back and newest weight from yesterday is 208lbs

o haha more than one month of no news/no updates...yes i vapourized into thin air since i have a so call "FT job", even have to work during weekends too (which I very much enjoy btw) haha and school is only PT now....but wow seems like everyone is either busy or abandoning xanga?? wat happened to the old highschool days?? BOOO

well i am writing a blog now to keep u guys entertained...so i dropped off fion at her house yesterday at around 2:30am (considered early already haha) after we went to APPLE FESTIVAL at ubc botanical garden and i had to go PEE really bad...so i started walkin to a back alley near her house to get ready to release myself on the street (yes i had no choice...cuz no mcdonalds around, nothing was open at tat time and still had to drive for another at least 40min to get back home) but as i was walkin saw an oncoming car...so i kindof waited so i dun get embarrassed and this was during pouring rain last nite...so as the car approached i noticed it was an undercover cop car...just drove by slowly so i went on with my duties after it passed by...after i finished started walkin back to my car and heard another car behind me....and it was the same cop car... they actually circled around the block (i duno how fast they drove cuz peeing only took me 15seconds) and they were sneaking behind me with lights turned off so i went back to my car and started it...ready to leave and saw a flashlight and heard a tap on the window...and u guessed it, it was the cop tat was satlkin me...asked me if i had anything to drink and y my eyes r blood shot red i told him i was tired but he didn't believe me asked me why i walked to the alleyway and back by myself so late at nite...suspected me i was urinating which i deny (lucky i actually finished b4 the circled around the blk) just told them i was talkin on the phone which they didn't believe me again so had to do breathalizer test which i passed 100% of course and they looked disappointed afterwards haha thought i was gona be catch of the day or sthg...but yes lucky i didn't drink or else i would be typing this in jail right now HAR HAR

onto other news....yes i got a coop job my record breaking 6th/7th term haha supposedly max is 6 terms but then i got around it haha and i can finally abandon my suit which was too big and make me look fat cuz i was just wearing my dad's...the one i had i bought b4 japan and now is WAAAAY too big for me...i can fit 1.5 of me inside those pants ahha wat a waste of money...only wore it 2X in japan b4 is retired...

after like 6 interviews....at dyaptive systems, kodak, broadcom, redbackX2, tatara systems (had interviews at bc transmission lines and agilent later on but had to cancel after i accepted the offer)...will be workin at www.redback.com at still creek drive burnaby near BCIT...jan-aug yep...postponed graduation again haha now is OCTOBER 2007 at least OUCH o well gettin as much out of my university experience as possible i guess...i was surprised they offered me the job so fast like 1h after my interview but tat was a sad day indeed...cuz i had 3 interviews tat day...2 back to back at redback and one at sfu mbc for tatara..so the 1st interview at redback was for an upper level development job and i was grilled and burnt on the spot it was very hurting...first of all the 2 interviewers were bitches to start with thinking they r all tat...didn't joke around at all they just kept bombarding me with technical questions which i could barely answer...and other not the typical interview questions which required u to think on the spot and i didn't do very well on but it was a good learning experience...kk here r some non-technical questions he asked and i kindof only answered half assed:

1) give me a REAL LIFE PERSONAL leader u've experienced with in ur life (so no markus naslund), and give me the qualities of tat leader - couldn't think of anyone on the spot except my dad but then it would be a lame answer so had to go to plan B and tried to describe the student society president i worked with b4 (not allen) but then didnm't really konw him tat well haha oops

2) wat is a typical office day for u - i think tatz one of those questions where they were lookin for more than o go in do ur job and go home...and i joked around with them saying a typical day would be workin 9-5 and they were like "TATZ A BAD ANSWER, UR IN THE WRONG COMPANY"...ouch i guess the interview was over 10min in haha...i just said some crap about settin goals each day and accomplishing the requried tasks and try to network with coworkers...shitty stuff like tat so wat would be a smart answer for tat?

3) wat do u do if ur team cannot work together and everyone is not pulling their weight? - just try to sort things out internally, discuss all the good and bad outcome, present it to upper management if required for them to make the ultimate decision, compromise with each other? yea i duno if tat was good enuf answer hhaa

give me some opinions....

and also....my orange copper bike is officially a GONER...gave it to my dad to trade in for a dream crusier he always wanted 2007 yamaha 1300...u guessed it...in RED again haha so yep...if u see me i will be on an OLD CAKE CRUISER, tat is slow, heavy and bulky...but very comfortable...i will make sure i have my shield down so nobody recognizes me in a cruiser hahahah...but o well cant afford 2 bikes cuz insurance is like $200-250/month tat is after road star discount....

long time no update...hmmmmm

so in case u duno...my family sold our house and  moved about a week ago to a rental house...dun worry i am still in coquitlam, and i am actually about 5 minutes away from my old house haha just on the other side of the mountain...on sala crescent...so yes i am not closer to ubc and it will remain at 53min haha...also im near the golf academy so give me a shout if u go driving range or 9 hole...and my cloesest neighbour now is probably alex and sheila? got boxes of shit all over the place...house is decent size but got no basement so no more parties at my house BOO cant accomodate anybody anymore...sorry the annual drinkfest during my bday will be postponed indefinately haha but emmy not here anymore too bad

so yes i will be staying here for 6 months til next feb/march...we r doing this cuz our new house is not finished yet cuz is delayed...so another stressful moving experience down the road haha the new house is maybe 5 minutes away from the rental house...near aspenwood which is the road that connects westwood plateau with heritage mtn near the 7eleven downsizing to a townhouse cuz my sister moved out awhile ago

duno y but dun feel sad at all leaving the old house is been almost 11years....since gr8 but not much memories except eapens infamous sushi noodles incident in the basement which the inspector never discovered haha when they checked the house for the buyer SUCKER but then lucky the carpet wasnt white so ur puke blended in...but yea i actually like the house i am in right now except that my room door doesn't close completely for some reason and not in a cul de sac anymore so lots of car noise

Extraction of the curvature of MEMS cantilevers using micrographs.
The light reflected by a surface to a viewer depends on
the relationship of the direction of the incoming light, the direction
of the viewer, and the normal.  These are known as bidirectional
reflectance functions (BRDF).  If the BRDF is known, than an optical
image can be used to determine the orientation of the surface at each
pixel.

The project would involve creating a jig to orient a gold-coated wafer
at various angles with respect to the optic axis of an optical
microscope.  An image would then be captured.  By repeated
measurements over different orientations, a BRDF for gold would be
created.  In essence, this would form a calibration curve from which
future images could be compared to determine surface orientation.

With the calibration curves, it should be possible to take images of
cantilevers and plates, and extract the radius of curvature.  This
would involve taking an optical image of the structure, and then
fitting the radius of curvature to minimize the error at each pixel.
This could be calcuated by predicting a surface orientation from the
radius of curvature, and using the BRDF to predict the expect
brightness.

This work could later be extended to surface reconstruction.

This project involves determining the Young's modulus, yield strength and
average stress in and out of plane of many different polymer MEMS
structures (SU-8, PMMA, PGMI etc.).  Because processing conditions
have a great effect on polymer mechanical properties, a simple set
of tests should be designed that can take a die full of diagnostic
MEMS structures and quickly determine the value for all the above
properties.
